This ng is like a desert...
I don't know well all Eclipse projects, but for me amalgamation means this:

With EMF I would like to create the model of my entities (e.g. customer,
order, etc.) and the model of the GUI (maybe with GMF) to managed this
entities (the navigator to see order, subset of them -filters- and forms to
perform CRUD).

Then a wizard will used this model to create the necessary tables in a DB
and the client and server application code.

You could choose between RCP or RAP.

Other probably involved projects: Eclipselink / Teneo, Riena, ...

I hope this is the common desire of all programmers tired to reinvent the
wheel everytime need to write a DB client application.

Bye

There are lots of interesting things in the works. The Ecore Tools
project in EMFT is helping to turn the example GMF graphical Ecore
editor into a friendly and usable tool. I'm expecting Jim van Dam and
Yves Yang to propose a component related to the idea of Intentional UI
Modeling:

http://www.eclipsecon.org/2008/?page=sub/&id=56
<http://www.eclipsecon.org/2008/?page=sub/&id=56>

EMF 2.4 has integration with JFace's data binding to help with forms
support. And of course GMF already lets you create very sexy graphical
editors.

Martin's http://wiki.eclipse.org/Texo component is just getting off the
ground. And Thiago is ready to commit code to kick off the Servus
component in the coming week(s):

Fortunately you don't need to be one of them. The M7 modeling package
should be available in a week or so:

You could choose between RCP or RAP.
I've been prototyping RAP and eRCP support

215378

Other probably involved projects: Eclipselink / Teneo, Riena, ...
The EclipseLink guys are working with Martin to so that Teneo will =
support EclipseLink...

I hope this is the common desire of all programmers tired to reinvent =
the=20
wheel everytime need to write a DB client application.
Some programmers will never tire from reinventing the wheel =
unfortunately:

Fortunately you don't need to be one of them. The M7 modeling package =
should be available in a week or so:

I don't know well all Eclipse projects, but for me amalgamation means =
this:

With EMF I would like to create the model of my entities (e.g. customer, =
