Hi Rita,
thanks for your question.
Apologies that the automated Maven build is not well documented, and the usage of EFBT is not well documented. This should be fixed by 1st August which is the planned date for the first official release.
The runtime for VTL is at a very early stage, it wil use the Eurostat VTL as a base ( https://github.com/eurostat/VTL ), and port the engine to replace any Oracle PLSQL with PostgresSQL/pgQL. It will integrate with the testing framework. This port has been started at https://github.com/BirdSoftwareSolutions/VTL as a PoC but to add this to the eclipse project we need to make sure the licenses are compatable (Eurosts VTL is EUPL, we need to make sure it has correct copyright and notices also, so we will work with the Eclipse IP team on this). hopefully we can get the license issues resolved before the first release.
Tooling to navigate the different cubes and dependencies between artefacts is at about 80% , a reasonable version of this will be in the first release.
Visualizing the dependencies between results of a VTL program and inputs to a VTL program is not a priority now since it was decided to use the Eurostat VTL engine instead of creating yet another VTL engine. Initially we were writing an engine with a focus on this lineage.
Tooling to support the organized testing of the BIRD regulatory logic is about 80%, it is called AORTA, a reasonable version of this will be in the first release.
Also the BIRD team has been looking at a Logical Data Model to help support the BIRD input Layer, and we will start work soon on tools to help support the Logical Data Model.
Regards,
Neil
